The objective of the CMA Entrance Examination is to evaluate whether candidates have mastered technical skills in management accounting, financial accounting, financial management and taxation from the prerequisite courses.

The Entrance Examination is held twice each year, in mid-June and mid-October. The exam is four hours in duration and is comprised of approximately 150 multiple-choice questions.  To review the Exam Syllabus, please click here.

The pass mark for the exam is 60%. Candidates must pass the Entrance Examination to proceed into the CMA Strategic Leadership Program, MBA-CMA, or CMA-CPFA program.

Next Steps:

To determine your eligibility for Step Two, the CMA Entrance Exam, mail an official copy of your university transcripts to Carolyn Carter-Legacy for a free official evaluation.

If you are applying in New Brunswick, please include the Evaluation Request Form with your transcript.

If your university education is from outside of Canada, additional materials are required. If you are applying to Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island, please forward an official or notarized translation of your transcript, along with course descriptions (in English) for those credits. If you are applying to New Brunswick or Newfoundland & Labrador, please have your credentials evaluated through ICES (International Credential Evaluation Services), and have ICES forward a Comprehensive Report directly to our office for consideration.
